“Think of your dream pirate radio station for weirdos, freaks, and degenerates in the 90’s before mainstream internet. When you were in chat rooms learning about gritty gothic-horror literature, bbs systems learning about bands, cult classics were all the rage, a time when you’d find copies of MK Ultra and other photo-copied magazines at local record stores, and you first instances of breathing the midnight air of the city streets looking for the “underground”. That’s the vibe we got going on at waxradioindy.com. I would like to build on that nostalgia factor because in 2025 a radio station is obsolete. So this is our tribute to the turn of the century before things really started to suck. It holds up well in the dystopian hell we find ourselves in today. We are really excited to start bringing more content of that era beyond music that will contribute to that feeling even further. Ad to that, helping promote some of what’s going on out there currently, it makes it fun and viable for people who are bored of living in such an “on demand” culture. People can tune out with us, be entertained, and find cool things to do.
